Vashon Center for the Arts, 19600 Vashon Highway SW, Vashon, WA 98070

In this concert, the Chorale celebrates its legacy with a commissioned new work by composer Giselle Wyers. The words of And All Shall be Well highlight different aspects of the legacy that an individual leaves behind to the world. The composer's sumptuous, melodic, resonant, warm style is a perfect match for this theme and for the Chorale. A string quartet and piano accompany the singers for this premiere presentation. Pre-concert interviews of Giselle Wyers by Artistic Director Dr. Gary D. Cannon will add to the experience for audiences.

The concert will also commemorate Vashon’s musical legacy with a song composed by the late Islander Buzz Brusletten and the Tin Pan Alley song, Vashon Island Moon. Kevin Siegfried’s Shaker Songs reveal contemplative wonder and beauty and several upbeat spirituals add another dimension to a diverse and entertaining program.
